		<description>As an alumnus, I work closely with my alma mater on a number of different alumni advisory boards, the alumni association, and I run a Center of Innovation out of one of the colleges. In my day job I work for a textbook publisher where I spend quite a bit of time inquiring instructors about how they work and where the technology and other resources could be improved to support the teaching process. The point here is that I get a lot of time around college instructors.

That said, I hear time and time again that instructors at the college level are tentative when it comes to technology. Especially the older instructors. And I hate to say it, but technology use in the classroom the way you&#039;ve described here may not reach the levels of higher education until after a wave of tenured instructors retire. So, despite the fact that you *could* be doing more, take heart in the fact that you&#039;re probably on the leading edge of technology use in education.

Oh, and I stumbled across this post as I make a point to follow educators.

Without the program, I&#039;m not sure that each of us would be reading blogs, searching for online classroom content, or even growing ourselves professionally. 		<description>I think all of the things you mentioned in the first paragraph of the Teacher Collaboration section should be occurring with our without a 1:1 program.  These are all things that should be happening as long as there&#039;s one computer in the room.</description>
